$9,000. Just had a look on autotrader here in the U.K. and found a 53 (2003) plate for £1,200. Certainly wouldn't pay $9,000 where ever I was.

But that's the thing. Where I live, theses don't exist at all. It's a UBER rare car. They go for 15000$ now.

Wow I've never seen one of these on the road in North America. Ever. And here's one less than 30 minutes away from me :O. I'm really tempted, but I think replacement parts will be even harder to find than ones for my Saab.

WOW! Thats got to be a massive money spinner if you know the export system and can work it. I'm afraid I've never coveted this car or Alfa Romeo other than the 146 and 164 when I was growing up.

Well that's how JDM shops were making money back in the days, buying 500-2000$ cars from Japan and selling them for 7000-15000$. It still works for companies outside of Québec where I live. But in Québec it's dead because they put a ban on importing RHD cars. That's when the target changed. Instead of JDM or RHD cars, let's import rare LHD cars from europe that people never seen here and get them for cheap. They are making a lot of wad!

Mainland Europe is full of really nice cheap lefties that North Americans would die for, sitting unloved. The prices I was seeing in The Nederlands and Poland were jaw dropping.

3Dr Fiestas, Focus'. Ford Focus and Mondeo estate/wagons. Vauxhall/Opel Corsa', Astra GTC', Astra estate/wagon. Many are very cheap as they are so common so used prices drop quite a bit. VW Scirocco, Skodas, Seats. The Alfa Romeo GTV you mentioned can be had from £325 (2000, 78,000miles, Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 TS 16V Lusso 2dr Coupe).

There is also a 1998, 128,000miles, Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 TS 16V 2dr for £595.
2001, 110,000miles, Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 TS 16V Lusso 2dr for £1,000. There are eight for £1,000 and lower.

Sorry to hear that. There are many websites available but some of the best finds are just going for a walk down some of the streets and roads when abroad and seeing what you find. I've seen a few (not so common on the streets after all these years) of my weakness, the Rover Coupe 1.6vvc and the Rover 820si Coupe for sale on side streets of Spain and The Nederlands.
